Magimix Food Processor Review

A couple weeks ago, I received a Magimix (by Robot-Coupe) 5200XL 16-Cup Food Processor to review for the blog. I have to say, I went into this giveaway a bit biased, since I’ve actually been a huge fan of the company for several years now–particularly since discovering (from my own experience) that Robot-Coupe’s are the only food processors found in any professional restaurant or kitchen.
And trust me, that alone tells you something about this brand…

I’m a firm believer in investing in good quality kitchen equipment the first time around. Especially when it comes to big ticket items like food processors. I would rather spend a bit more money and get a machine that is made to stand the test of time–and will serve me just as well ten, hopefully twenty, years down the line.
Magimix, Robot-Coupe’s first line of food processors available for home cooks (and available exclusively through Williams-Sonoma), stands by the quality of their machines so much that they now offer a 30-year-motor-warranty on all of their food processors. Every piece of this machine is actually made in Burgundy, France–true to the company’s roots.
Three Nesting Bowls (6-Cup, 12-Cup & 16-Cup) –this allows you to multi-task and do a variety of prep tasks (for various quantities of food) all at the same time, without having to clean the bowl over and over again.

I have had Cuisinart food processors for years, but this one looks especially easy to operate.
All the accessories and features make me want to get one and explore all the possible ways to use it in my cooking. The whisk and dough blade are especially attractive to me. This processor would definitely fire up my creative juices for cooking! Hope I win!

Using the three bowls would be exciting! It allows for some procrastination in washing dishes.
This machine looks amazing! I am most excited about the different bowls, I use my current food processor a lot and find myself always washing the bowl part!! What a joy it would be to have extra bowls better suited to what I need processed.

Magimix 5200XL: attachment for juice extraction is a perfect attachment for a food processor, if for no other reason than cutting down on clutter in the kitchen counter real estate challenge. I have been following your blog from day one, when you started going to school, and I look forward to your tid bits of your exploring, whatever the subject. Keep up the good work.

I just found this recipe and made it the other day…however, I had to make the whole thing in microscopic batches in my one-cup food processor…NOT a good use of time! 🙂 The first thing I’d do would be to make Giada’s recipe all over again in 1/8th of the time!

I am most excited to try the 3 different size bowls, it would make cooking so much easier – I’ve often lamented that I only have one bowl for my current food processor.
